After being abandoned by her family less than a week ago, Corona the dog was found bleeding in the road by a group of children on Wednesday night. A family that resided nearby brought her to the Cannon County Animal Clinic in Woodbury, TN where she underwent surgery on Thursday.
At first, it was believed that she had been beaten since she was bleeding from her mouth, nose, and eyes. During surgery, however, a doctor found that her tongue had been sliced, and an X-ray discovered the shrapnel of a bullet in her throat and stomach.
Corona also had flash burns in her throat from the blast of the gun on her larynx and throat and damage to her esophagus.
It is believed that someone put a gun inside of her mouth, and then pulled the trigger.
A report was filed with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, and whomsoever is responsible for her injuries is to be severely prosecuted.
After surgery, Corona was miraculously listed in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery.
Corona will recover in an indoor foster home and will be adopted out to a loving family.
She is still as friendly, compassionate, and loving as she must have been before this vicious act of cruelty.Don’t stand for abuse against animals. Reblog this to show your support.
Corona is a lover with a fighter’s heart.
